Tech Stands Up

Tech Stands Up began in 2017 when Brad Taylor, frustrated after the election, thought that this was the time the tech industry needed to use its power to stand up for those who didn’t have a voice. We needed to look at the role the tech industry played in creating the conditions that continue to disenfranchise much of the country. Our industry had create enormous wealth, but only for a select few here in Silicon Valley.

On March 14th, 2017, PiDay, hundreds of like minded techies as well as non-profits from around the bay area gathered to voice their concerns and put pressure on our leaders to not allow the technologies we build every day be used for disinformation and oppression.
